2;Span Selection
In steel structure design, a 24-meter span is typically the most economical dimension. It maximizes the strength advantages of steel structures, allowing for the construction of economical and durable workshops with minimal material costs. Of course, for workshops requiring spans larger than 24 meters, a single-ridge, dual-slope design can be adopted for expansion. This approach eliminates the need for gutters in the middle and corresponding drainage trenches on the ground, not only reducing construction costs but also avoiding the risk of water leakage in the plant.
3;Material Selection
For the roofing and wall materials of steel structure plants, sandwich panels or color steel tiles are commonly used. Sandwich panels offer fireproof and thermal insulation properties, but due to their large volume, transportation costs are higher. For workshops or warehouses, an alternative solution is to use rolled insulation wool for the roof. Rolled insulation wool has a compact volume, expands automatically during on-site installation, and provides thermal insulation performance equivalent to sandwich panels. This option can be chosen for workshops with lower requirements.
4;Door and Window Selection
Doors and windows serve as crucial logistics passages and facilities for lighting and ventilation in a steel structure plant. It is generally important to avoid oversized dimensions or sizes that do not match the steel structure frame. Based on production needs, selecting the most reasonable door size is key—a 4m x 6m electric rolling shutter door is often a suitable choice. Windows are used for renewing indoor air and providing natural light. If the plant height exceeds 10 meters, consider installing two layers of sliding windows. Alternatively, roof ventilation windows and daylighting bands can be arranged to save energy and reduce emissions.
