1. Cold Store Design: Synergistic Optimization of Function and Structure
Professional cold store design is the foundation for ensuring efficient and energy-saving operations in the later stage. During the design phase, we first conduct detailed functional zoning based on your process flow, scientifically arranging areas for pre-cooling, cleaning and processing, packaging, logistics passages, and shipping zones. A well-planned layout can significantly improve the turnover efficiency of your facility. For large-scale cold stores, the refrigerated storage area should be subdivided into several independent storage units to achieve refined temperature control management and operational energy savings. Secondly, in terms of steel structure design, we consider the geographical environment of the project site, accurately calculating wind loads, snow loads, and seismic intensity to select the most reasonable thickness of insulated panels and steel materials. 2. Steel Structure Installation: Precision Determines Quality
As the framework of the cold store, the installation precision of the steel structure directly determines the efficiency of subsequent panel installation and the overall airtightness. Henan Gefan Building Materials Co., Ltd. specializes in one-stop delivery services for various steel structure buildings and deeply understands that "a minor error can lead to a huge mistake." In the processing stage, we use high-precision laser cutting machines for blanking, ensuring all steel components are dimensionally accurate, controlling installation errors from the source. On-site, we strictly control the verticality and elevation of steel columns and the installation precision of roof trusses according to international construction standards. Only after the main structure forms a stable spatial system do we proceed to the next step, laying a solid foundation for the seamless installation of the insulated panels.
3. Polyurethane Panel Installation and Floor Construction: Building an Airtight Insulation Layer
The construction of the insulation system is the core of cold store construction, directly impacting future energy consumption costs. We select polyurethane sandwich panels with extremely low thermal conductivity or PIR panels with superior performance. During installation, we focus on treating "thermal bridge" points, especially where wall panels meet the floor and around interior steel columns. These areas must be tightly wrapped with polyurethane panels and thermally broken to prevent energy loss. For ceiling panels exceeding 5 meters in height, we add mushroom-shaped anchor points in the middle to ensure long-term strength and deformation resistance. All panel joints are filled with specialized polyurethane foam sealant and secondarily sealed with silicone sealant to guarantee airtightness. For the floor insulation, we utilize 150mm thick high-density extruded polystyrene (XPS) boards laid with a double-layer vapor barrier to prevent moisture ingress and ensure long-term thermal performance. After all insulation and vapor barrier installation is complete, a high-strength reinforced concrete floor slab is poured to create a smooth, durable surface capable of supporting heavy loads and free from frost heave risks.
4. Installation of Shuttle Racking and Refrigeration Equipment: Achieving Automation and Efficient Cooling
To maximize cold store space utilization and achieve automated goods management, we recommend installing an automatic shuttle racking system. The racking installation must strictly control verticality and connection strength with the floor to ensure stability and safety during high-level operation, meeting the storage demands of modern high-bay cold stores. Furthermore, the installation location of the refrigeration equipment is crucial. We position units like compressors and condensers in outdoor areas conducive to ventilation and heat dissipation, ensuring long-term stable operation under optimal conditions, extending compressor life, and reducing failure rates. During installation, all pipes and hangers passing through the insulation layer must be meticulously sealed and thermally insulated to prevent energy leakage or condensation drip due to improper node treatment, thereby ensuring the efficiency and reliability of the entire refrigeration system.
